A bespoke two storey family home set in a rural context, on the outskirts of Galway City, located on a hill side with the front of the house north facing with beautiful views of Lough Corrib while the back is south facing and the terrain rising sharply. The proposed layout maximises both the orientation and views by breaking the building mass into smaller volumes of various heights that are stepped relative to one another to work with the sloping site levels capitalising on both the north facing view of the Corrib and the southern aspect at the back where a private south facing terrace is sheltered by the resulting cluster of built volumes that maximize solar gain and natural light.
