A bespoke two storey dwelling house with ancillary garage situated in a rural context in Galway. Taking the form and proportion of the rural vernacular house, the proposed house is of contemporary design with the use of traditional materials such as white render, limestone and slate roof. The house plans have been developed with concern for quality of family life expressed through optimum spatial relationships, flexible plan arrangements that take into account the constant changes that take place into a growing family. The resulting T-shaped plan tracks the sun path throughout the day – allowing sunlight to penetrate deep into all the rooms.
