The scheme is a low-density development of 20no. two storey, four bedroom, detached dwelling houses located on a green-field site on the outskirts of Westport town designed to respond in a sensitive manner to both the rural context and the landscape. Four main house types have been designed to incorporate elements of the vernacular, while maintaining a contemporary expression. The scheme was also designed to fulfil a demand for energy-efficient, large detached houses in close proximity to Westport town.
