ST. JOESPHS CONVENT

LONGFORD

Conversion of existing bedroom accommodation into 15 new en-suite bedrooms with repair and restoration work throughout the building.

There were 37 residents’ bedrooms and one visitor’s bedroom in the existing protected structure which no longer met the requirements of its aging residents. Within the existing fabric of the protected structure it is proposed to provide 15 en-suite bedrooms with an average size of 30sqm. The extent of works is generally confined to the interior with the external fabric and structural elements being largely unaffected. The proposed works will enhance, preserve and upgrade the existing convent, safeguard the visual amenity, character, social and cultural heritage of the protected structures.
